Australia / New Zealand Airtime Plan Territory Shrinks
We regret that Iridium have recently clarified their documentation and say that the territory only stretches 12NM from the main New Zealand coast and although they admit that their documentation was not clear they have no intention of extending it beyond the 12nm for New Zealand, apparently the 200nm was a special concession for Australia only.
We have asked for an official document that shows this clearly. We are sorry this could not be more positive. As a small gesture they have agreed to credit calls within the 200nm made up to the end of August, and we will pass this on to you so hopefully this will go some way to easing the pain for existing customers, this is however a one off gesture.
We hope this does not cause you too much inconvenience, our apologies once again.
Please contact us if you would like further clarification. Yours Sincerely,
David Thorpe and Andrew Wilson

7th September, 2009 Cynotech moves into new larger premises
Moving over the weekend, Cynotech (including Cynotech Satellite) have moved into new larger premises with far more floor space, a much brighter office and room for everyone on one floor. Computers were up from first thing Monday.
The new location is a stones throw from our old location. It is Level 4, Cynotech Building, 20 Kent Street, Newmarket. Phone, fax and emails are as before.
We have a visitor park with security restrictions - give us a call ahead of time to arrange.
The new location is easy to find at the intersection of Kent and Crowhurst Streets, Newmarket. (Crowhurst becomes Gillies as it nears the motorway underpass).

Commissioning of a Sailor Fleet Broad Band (FBB) 150 terminal on board a cruising vessel today went very smoothly. The stand out impression I was left with was the ease of operation via the excellent controlling handset and the high data speed (it seemed very similar to broadband). The below deck unit was tucked out of sight and the above deck unit (antenna) was comparatively unobtrusive.
